Deck of the Week : Real Hanging Klansman

Company : Real Skater : Jim Thiebaud Width : 8.25 Construction : This popsicle version of the classic Hanging Klansman reissue is another limited run of 300 boards that sends a portion of the decks proceed to the Johnny Kicks Cancer Foundation which is dedicated to helping kids with Leukemia. This came out first in a retro pool shape a few months ago as part of the 20 year anniversary celebrating Jim's relationship with the Real brand. Incorporating social messaging into graphics was a huge part of the industry and skate culture when this was first issued and the stoke that this board gives me wishes that trend made a reemergence. Everyone who wished they could have gotten one of the originals that the dudes at deluxe were nice enough to send us will be happy to know that we have a couple of these and none of them are spoken for so come grab these up and own a piece of skate history.

Deck of the Week : Terror of Planet X Welcome to Hell Deck

Company : Terror of Planet X Skater : Mike Maldonado Width : 8.0, 8.25, 8.5 Construction : Made in the xxxxing U.S.A. The dudes over at Terror of Planet X have been all over the Northeast scene recently and The Shack is stoked to be able to make them a part of our offering. The boards should be on the wall by the end of the week. This one is my favorite for a shit ton of reasons. The "welcome to hell" graphic is an homage to what many consider to be the best skate video of all time by the same name that Mike Maldonado was a part of. The misfitsesque graphic definitely hammers home that old school punk feel and the fact the it is made in the USA, comes in a bunch of sizes, and is the pro model of an east coast legend makes this an instant Donny-favorite. We can't wait to get these on the wall and start repping another east coast brand that is doing it right. Now check out Adam Hribar put the USA wood to the test

It has been a great five and a half years at The Shack Board Shop but it has come time to sit down and think about our future. We have decided that we are going to consolidate our stores and The Shack Board Shop will be moving into our Beach Haven location Surf Shack South. The Shack Board Shop was born out of what was supposed to be a quick fix after Superstorm Sandy. After Sandy devastated Surf Shack South, we were dealing with the dilemma of having a full stock of skim, surf, and skate gear and a loyal customer base who was looking for holiday gifts but no useable store for them to visit. This led us to the Manahawkin Mart, which has been our home for the past five and a half years. Here we decided to give this store its own identity and concentrate on the void created by the loss of all the previous skate shops that once populated the Ocean County area.
